INTERNATIONAL SHAW SOCIETY

   2023 Membership Form

The annual ISS membership fee is due on January 1 of each year.

          As the ISS is a non-profit organization, fees and donations are

tax-deductible in the U.S.A. and may be in other countries as well. 

          The process of acquiring membership as described below is entirely                                                                              

          electronic, but if you can’t make the electronic version work, you can

          snail-mail a check (cheque) or USD cash to the ISS Treasurer,

Michael O’Hara, at 1001 E. Washington St., Muncie, IN 47305-2047,

United States of America. 

In the electronic version that follows, there are three steps: 

STEP # 1) Add up what your costs are (see “ITEMS TO PURCHASE”  below).

STEP # 2) Pay the total cost with a debit or credit card or Paypal account.

A form should appear on your default browser identifying the International Shaw Society

as the recipient of your purchase and, below that, that you are providing “Purchase Detail,” but not just for Membership.   Fill in “Price per item” by putting in not an itemization but the total of your membership (required),

your journal subscriptions (optional), and donation (optional).  

Do not put in a Dollar sign ($).

Then Click on “Continue”

On next page, p. 2 – if you have a PayPal account and want to use it,

put in your email address or mobile number associated with that account

and then click on login.  If not, click on “Pay with Debit or Credit Card.” 

Almost everybody uses the second option. 

On next page, p. 3 –“PayPal Guest Checkout,” fill in the data that is required.   

Make sure you put in the CSC (Card Security Code) number.  

For many, you just need to put in the card # and most of the rest will be filled in for you.

Then click on “Pay Now.”

STEP # 3) Email the ISS Treasurer, Michael O’Hara, at mohara@bsu.edu

to let him know two things:

1. Is your membership new or renewing or a gift?  Provide details on home

address, phone #, and email address of the member,

updating your changes as needed.

2. How does your spending break down?  Itemize it please (crucial).  

Following is a list of the purchasable items, with membership being

the only thing required, the rest being optional.

1a. Standard Membership $30;

1b.Spousal or At Same Address Membership $40 (both listed);  

1c. Student Membership $10.

Donations (optional):

Donate however much you wish.  Your donation will be used to award

Travel Grants and Scholarships to young scholars to attend and participate

in ISS Conferences and Symposia.  See details at

Subscription to SHAW 43 (optional):

The journals SHAW 43.1 & 43.2 (Penn State University Press) are available to members

at a discount price of $35.

Subscription to The Shavian (optional):

The UK Shaw Society offers a subscription to the paperback journal The Shavian (2 or 3 editions per year)

at $30, and with that comes membership in the UK Shaw Society.  See www.shawsociety.org.uk) for details.
